Losing his partner, a bereaved man tries to reconnect with his community. During his reawakening, he will find a  rebellious streak, resist the expectations that others have for him and reject the institutionalisation of old age. His new and life affirming “screw it” attitude mirrors the young and truly independent characters in the story.
